Mixed-Age Music Classes

Music Together® Mixed-Age Classes are joyful, research-based music and movement classes for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them®.

In each 45-minute class, families sing, move, dance, chant, and play along with child-friendly instruments in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Children are free to participate in the way that feels natural to them—whether they sing, dance, play, observe, snuggle, or simply take it all in.

Why mixed ages?

Child development researchers discovered that grouping children of different ages in one class encourages natural, family-style learning, so Music Together^® developed the Mixed-Age Music Class. In this class, everyone participates at their own levels: babies vocalize, listen, and observe; toddlers play and experiment; and preschoolers build confidence as they emerge as classroom leaders. Grownups are happy because everyone can come to class together.

Your Role in Class

Grownups are an important part of the class experience. You do not need to be a musician or have a “good” singing voice. Your child learns so much by watching you sing, move, clap, dance, and enjoy the music with them.

When children see the adults they love participating, they are more likely to explore, experiment, and join in when they are ready.

Take the Music Home

Each enrolled family receives access to the current Music Together® song collection and materials, so the music-making can continue at home throughout the week.

Families often use the songs during everyday routines like car rides, playtime, cleanup, bath time, and bedtime. These repeated musical experiences help children become more familiar with the music and support their natural music development.

Current Collection: Kazoo

Our current session features the Kazoo Collection.

Enrolled families receive access to the Kazoo music collection and session materials. Music Together® features a rotating curriculum with twelve different song collections over a three-year cycle, so families are introduced to new music each time they register for a new session.
